Ahold Update on share buyback program

Amsterdam, the Netherlands - Ahold today announced that it has repurchased 7,699,486 of its own common shares in the period from October 1, 2007 up to and including October 5, 2007. Shares were repurchased at an average price of ¤10.6596 per share for a total amount of ¤82.07 million. These repurchases were made as part of the ¤1 billion share buyback program announced on August 30, 2007. The total number of shares repurchased under this program to date is 53,655,465 common shares for a total consideration of ¤556.6 million.
