DSM - Repurchase and cancellation of shares (week 46)

Royal DSM N.V. has repurchased 933,109 of its own shares in the period from 8 November 2007 up to and including 14 November 2007 at an average price of EUR 36.11. This is in accordance with the first phase of the share buyback program, announced on 1 October 2007. The consideration of this repurchase was EUR 33.7 million. The total number of shares repurchased under the first phase of this program to date is 4,138,096 shares for a total consideration of EUR 158.5 million. In accordance with the cancellation process initiated on 13 September 2007, Royal DSM N.V. announces that 7,128,008 shares, bought during the second phase of the during September completed share buyback program, have been cancelled as per 13 November 2007. As a result the number of issued ordinary shares has decreased by 3.8% to 181,425,000.
