Pöyry awarded 4 MEUR railway construction management contract in Finland

Pöyry's Urban & Mobility business group has been awarded a railway construction
management contract by Finnish Transport Agency. The work starts immediately.
The assignment is estimated to be completed in 2014. The value of the contract
for Pöyry is EUR 4 million.
The construction management assignment covers the second phase of the Seinäjoki-
Oulu railway line refurbishment, except for Kokkola-Ylivieska section. This
contract is a continuum of Pöyry's successful involvement in the first phase of
the project, started in 2007.
Seinäjoki-Oulu railway line is an important route connecting Northern and
Southern Finland. The development of the line is expected to increase the
competitiveness of rail traffic and will generate new opportunities for the
trade and industry of the region.
Pöyry is currently working in various rail projects worldwide. The assignments
include for instance supervision of several high speed rail construction
projects in China and Spain, rail design projects in Romania, Poland, Germany
and Finland as well as metro projects in Brazil, Peru and Finland.
