Full success of offer to repurchase bonds
for a total amount of €635 million

 

Wendel has successfully repurchased its 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2021 bond issues under its tender offer, for a nominal amount of €569 million, i.e. a total amount of €635 million (excluding accrued interest). The amounts repurchased were distributed as follows:

  • A portion of the €700 million bond issue bearing interest at 4.375% and maturing in August 2017, with a par value of €127.0 million, was repurchased for €131.5 million. The outstanding par value will be €507.4 million after the settlement date.
  • A portion of the €500 million bond issue bearing interest at 6.750% and maturing in April 2018, with a par value of €150.2 million, was repurchased for €165.4 million. The outstanding par value will be €349.8 million after the settlement date.
  • A portion of the €600 million bond issue bearing interest at 5.875% and maturing in September 2019, with a par value of €101.5 million, was repurchased for €118.9 million. The outstanding par value will be €212.0 million after the settlement date.
  • A portion of the €400 million bond issue bearing interest at 3.750% and maturing in January 2021, with a par value of €190.5 million, was repurchased for €219.2 million. The outstanding par value will be €209.5 million after the settlement date.

The 2017 bonds are traded on the regulated market of the Luxembourg Stock Exchange and the 2018, 2019 and 2021 bonds are traded on Euronext Paris.

 

In addition, Wendel successfully placed a €300 million bond issue maturing in April 2023 with a coupon of 1% last week.

These two transactions have enabled Wendel to continue reducing the average cost of its bond debt to less than 3.0% on average, vs. 3.5% as of the end of August 2016, while reducing its gross debt to €3,379 million. The average maturity of Wendel's debt as of the settlement date will be 4.7 years.
