PÖYRY AWARDED CONTRACT FOR HIGHWAY DESIGN IN VENEZUELA

PÖYRY PLC Press release 10 October 2008 at 3.30 p.m. PÖYRY AWARDED CONTRACT FOR HIGHWAY DESIGN IN VENEZUELA Pöyry has been awarded a detail engineering contract by Petroleos de Venezuela, SA for the design of a 120 km interstate highway in Maturin, Monagas State, Venezuela. The total value of the contract amounts to EUR 2.4 million. The project includes the detail engineering and special studies such as topographical surveying, geotechnics, soil engineering, environmental planning, hydraulics and safety assessment for three sections of the highway. The services are to be carried out between October 2008 and November 2009. This assignment reinforces Pöyry's strategy of expanding its road engineering business in Latin America.
