Imtech: orders worth 41 million euro for high-tech sustainable
technology in Germany
Gouda - Imtech (technical services provider in Europe) announces that
it has won orders worth 41 million euro in Germany for sustainable
technological solutions.
René van der Bruggen, CEO of Imtech: 'The high-tech orders are proof
that Imtech is reinforcing its already strong position in the German
market for energy solutions and technical sustainability.'
Power station in Stade: unique combination of natural gas, coal and
hydrogen
On the energy production site of Dow Chemical in Stade, close to
Hamburg in Germany, Dow Deutschland Anlagengesellschaft and EnBW are
jointly realizing a new power station. The goal for the new power
station is to achieve a combustion efficiency of up to about 60%.
This is a much higher combustion efficiency than the maximum of 46%
achieved in modern coal-fired power stations. Innovative solutions
will be used to achieve this ambitious target. The use of traditional
coal will be reduced, in return the use of natural gas will be
increased and the hydrogen generated as a by-product during chemical
processing will be used optimally as an extra sustainable energy
source. Sophisticated energy technology will make this possible.
Imtech is responsible for the complete water steam-cycle. The
assignment involves the sophisticated feed water-system, the steam
pressure reduction and distribution and all technical connecting
systems. This involves a complete total technical package from basic
and detail engineering through to delivery, assembly, commissioning
and testing of the systems.
Sustainable technology for Victoria Versicherungen and historic
botanic garden
In a new 41,000 m² office building to be built for Victoria
Versicherungen in Dusseldorf, Imtech will be responsible for all
technical solutions, such as the innovative air and climate
technology, electrical engineering, data facilities and fire safety.
This technical infrastructure will be integrated in such a way that
the building will be extremely energy-efficient. In addition, four
integrated high-tech combined heat and power (CHP) systems (creation
of energy by the combination of the generation of heat and
electricity in a single process with a total capacity of almost 3,900
KW) will be designed and fitted on a modular basis, and in
combination with an energy-efficient connection to the municipal
power station, these will lead to an exceptionally high-level energy
performance. Use of hydrogen cooling systems will reduce the amount
of water used to a minimum. This high-tech cooling technology will
also ensure that the cooling of the building's computer centre is
largely energy-neutral. The building will accommodate more than 900
Victoria Versicherungen employees and will be completed in 2010.
Imtech is also responsible for the sustainable technology for the
renovation of the 'Gesellschaftshaus', the historic 9,500 m² main
building of the Palmengarten in Frankfurt. This botanic garden dates
from about 1870 and has a surface area of 29 hectares in total, where
an unique collection of tropical and subtropical plants can be seen.
The Palmengarten is Germany's largest botanic garden. Here, too,
Imtech will be responsible for all technical solutions and will
integrate them in such a way that the building will be sustainable
and energy-efficient. The technological renovation will be completed
in 2010.
Energy: strong growth market for Imtech
The German energy market is a major growth market for Imtech. Imtech
focuses on optimising energy performance by means of a broad package
of energy services and specific technology solutions. This enables
Imtech to integrate the entire technical infrastructure in buildings
and industrial facilities in such a way that this is sustainable and
energy-efficient. A good example of this is the 'green
revitalisation' that Imtech is currently implementing in the head
office of the Deutsche Bank in Frankfurt. In addition, Imtech is able
to take complete responsibility on a long-term basis for the
delivery, maintenance and management of all energy systems. Imtech
also uses innovative technology to integrate the complete energy
process in business and production processes. All operational systems
and processes are analysed and optimised. This not only leads to
efficiency improvements, but also to substantial cost and energy
savings. As well as this, Imtech is active in the market for
decentralised energy systems and power plants.
