Eltek reported revenue of NOK 846 million for the continuing operations in the
power electronics market in the third quarter 2012, virtually unchanged from NOK
843 million in the same quarter last year. Gross margin improvements and lower
operating costs generated a 40 increase in operating profit (EBIT) to NOK 62
million and a 60 percent increase in pre-tax profit to NOK 39 million.
Net profit from the continuing operations was NOK 29 million in the third
quarter 2012. Including Nera Telecommunications (NeraTel), which is treated as
discontinued operations in the Income Statement, net profit amounted to NOK 57
million. Eltek continues to evaluate the strategic options for NeraTel and its
50.05 percent ownership in the company.
Order entry was NOK 925 million in the third quarter, one percent increase from
the third quarter last year.
For the first nine months of 2012, revenue increased by two percent to NOK
2,538 million, whereas order entry increased by three percent to NOK 2,665
million. Operating profit (EBIT) amounted to NOK 155 million and profit before
tax to NOK 92 million for the continuing business in the first nine months
2012. Net profit from the continuing operations was NOK 73 million in the first
nine months, whereas net profit including Nera Tel amounted to NOK 151 million.
