Corio received the award for most sustainable listed real estate fund in the
Netherlands on 28 November 2012 from VDBO. The award is a recognition of Corio's
sustainability performance in the VBDO/GRESB sustainable real estate benchmark
2012. In addition, Corio also received the Green Brick Award (Groene Baksteen)
on 18 September 2012 at the Jones Lang Lasalle congress, which was granted for
outstanding sustainability performance.
Gerard Groener, CEO: "In today's rapidly changing world, maintaining sustainable
economic results cannot be seen separately from showing consistent performance
in social and environmental matters. We do not operate in isolation. Our
business needs to reinvent itself, to innovate, in order to stay relevant
socially and economically. The business case for our CSR approach is clear and
persuasive. It helps us to connect with consumers and to understand and respond
to their demands. This gives us the possibility to sustain high occupancy levels
and increase footfall. A robust approach towards environmental footprint
reduction makes our operations more cost effective, prepares us for future
legislative challenges and paves the way to innovative approaches in terms of
sustainable design and new collaborative models."
