HAVFISK ASA wins the lawsuit brought by Hermes AS

(Ålesund 16 August 2016)   HAVFISK ASA won the appeal submitted in Hålogaland Lagmannsrett by Hermes AS regarding an agreement to sell a vessel and quotas.     

HAVFISK refers to earlier notifications and statements in interim- and annual reports regarding the agreement to sell the vessel "Jergul" including 1.35 quota units of cod and haddock.  

On 15 April 2015 HAVFISK received a summons from Hermes AS with claim for compensation for alleged losses limited upwards to NOK 150 328 200. The claim involved lack of fulfillment of the contract, and compensation for default of the contract. HAVFISK won the case heard in Nord-Troms District Court in November 2015. The judgement fell at 11 December 2015 and concluded that HAVFISK was acquitted for the entire claim, and was awarded legal costs.

Hermes AS appealed 21 January 2016 the judgement by the District Court to Hålogaland Lagmannsrett,  with claim for compensation for alleged losses limited upwards to NOK 110.000.000. The proceedings took place 6. - 10 June 2016. Judgement fell on 16 August 2016 and the appeal was rejected. HAVFISK is acquitted for the claim.
